August 23, Leaves

I took Chloe for a walk at dusk on Monday, and she was not happy with me. Ever since the Fourth of July, she has refused to take walks in the dark. Last week I couldn't even get her to go outside. On Monday, she kept looking behind her and tried to guide me home. The fireworks have scarred her more than they have in the past--or is that what happens when your best bud gets older?

It hailed and lightninged (?!) this evening, and afterwards the sun started to peak out as it was setting behind the mountains. The whole street was wrapped in a bright golden light while the sky above was a dark gray. Beautiful! This photo doesn't do it much justice.

It snows in Colorado too! Sure, we may not have had a 30 incher followed by a 20 incher, but we get our fair share...just not this winter. Bring it on!!!
