Rob's grandfather served in the Army during WWII. His parents (Rob's great-grandparents) mailed him a box camera while he was serving in Italy. Robert Sr. would take photos, have them developed, and then mail them home to NC. His mother compiled a scrapbook of the photos, letters, and newspaper clippings. Rob and I were lucky enough to view the album--it even has a photo of Joe Louis! It is amazing. Robert Sr. received a Purple Heart for his service during the war, and Rob's great-grandfather received a Purple Heart during WWI (shown in the large display case).
